The tax authorities now have sophisticated investigative tools at their disposal (tax investigations, powers of seizure and search, judicial tax investigation proceedings, tax offences caught in the act, and hearings) enabling them to investigate tax offences and, where appropriate, to prosecute them, with the assistance of the Judicial Police. <\/p>
